Neuroscience Program in Aging and the Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Research Institute
Sponsors:
UAB Department of Neurobiology
Purpose:
The Institute’s primary focus is to become the premier center for aging-related
memory studies in the nation. The Institute focuses on both developing new treatments
for memory disorders associated with aging and understanding the basic processes
of memory dysfunction. The training and teaching mission of the University of Alabama
at Birmingham is supported through the Institute as new courses are developed that
concern aging-related memory dysfunction, memory function per se, and translational
research in the memory dysfunction area.
