Newsletter - Insight on Aging
Sponsors:
UAB Center for Aging
Purpose:
The purpose of the newsletter is to communicate information about activities and
accomplishments of Center for Aging (CFA) faculty and enhance the visibility of
the CFA locally and nationally. The focus of the newsletter has been on research
activities, including newly funded grants, updates on ongoing research projects,
and the Center for Aging Intramural Grant program. It also serves as a venue for
promoting the Center’s educational programs such as the Clinical and Behavioral
Training program in Gerontology and the Scientific Seminar Series, as well as the
service programs including the Alzheimer Family Program and New Horizons.
Services:
The newsletter is published two times per year and distributed to over 3500 individuals
and organizations with interest in aging and programs for older adults. These include
national and regional funding agencies, service agencies, centers on aging, leaders
in gerontology and geriatric medicine, legislators, and other government officials.
Opportunities for Faculty Involvement:
The CFA newsletter provides an opportunity for CFA members to have their work highlighted
and disseminated to the gerontology community.
